Wow - hadn't expected that so fast! Takes your breath away.
After two days of numerous phone calls, emails and wrangling, and God sized miracles, I have tickets for me and my dear friend April to go to Ethiopia, leaving Monday - yep, you read that, March 5th I leave for Ethiopia!!! Tuesday we heard and by Thursday morning it was all final and we were confirmed. I even got the airline tickets overnighted to our house, so I have them in my hot little hand.
Overwhelming, bewildering, emotional, there is just no way to describe it! I went from planning kids' school lessons, music lessons, riding lessons and all, to planning to get to the other side of the world. Knowing our life will never be the same once I set foot on that plane - though in reality, that happened once we began this process over a year ago.
I spent the last two days grabbing last minute things we need, organizing things, getting help with the kids at home, and packing like crazy. I keep packing and repacking. I am so tired now.
Oh, yeah, and did I tell you that it is play week? The week that the community theater production that Kiley and Alex are involved in - Alex is the student director and Kiley has a part in the play. Faith and Tsion are helping with costume changes as they are fairly complex and the actors need help. The way it works, the last two weeks simply revolve around the theater as they do this. Seven performances later and we are done. One more to go and then they are done. All the shows have been nearly sold out, even the one in the midst of a snowstorm. By the way, it is Anne of Green Gables - forgot to mention it before. So, it has been really popular and Evergreen Productions really does a great job.
And on top of that intense week - I added in going to Ethiopia. Let's just say that I plan to sleep on the plane. Hee, hee!
So, I will try to update as I can. Last time we had access to internet over there, but who knows. I would appreciate prayers as we go through it. Peace and safety for everyone at home, peace and safety for April and I as we travel, and for comfort and peace for our little girls who are facing the biggest change anyone can ever face and at very young ages. We all know that this transition will be exhausting, emotional, wonderful, loving, challenging, and amazing. Prayers for all members of the family as we all change and become a family of twelve!
